Nicolas Gisin
Professor Nicolas Gisin, head of the Group of Applied Physics at the University of Geneva, has made several important contributions to quantum optics. In his work, he has combined extensive expertise in optical fibers with basic quantum effects. The group’s demonstrations of quantum cryptography and quantum communications over long distances under Lake Geneva have attracted wide attention not only with the scientific community but also with the general public.
Nicolas Gisin is also the co-founder of ID Quantique, the world leading company in quantum cryptography.
