Jaw-Shen Tsai
NEC Nano Electronics Research Laboratories and RIKEN Advanced Science Institute
Jaw-Shen Tsai is a true pioneer in the research of superconducting quantum bits (qubits). His group demonstrated the fabrication and measurement of the first superconducting qubit in 1999. It took three years for others to follow this result. After this achievement, he and his group have lead the field by the first demonstrations of coupled qubits, controlled couplings between two qubits, and single artificial atom lasing, to name a few.
Jaw-Shen Tsai is the winner of the Nishina Memorial Prize (2004) and Simon Memorial Prize (2008).
