Low Temperatures 2008 is a five-day event which includes three parts: (i) A symposium on Quantum Phenomena and Devices at Low Temperatures, gathering international top researchers in nanoelectronics and low-temperature physics to a fairly informal meeting at Hotel Matinlahti, Espoo; (ii) A research evaluation of Low Temperature Laboratory (LTL) which is a Finnish national center of excellence in research; and (iii) celebration of more than 40 years of low temperature physics research and more than 100 doctoral theses achieved in LTL. Many of these doctors will also join the celebration.

Symposium on Quantum Phenomena and Devices at Low Temperatures
ULTI users meeting, Espoo, Finland, 28.-30.3.2008
VENUE
Hotel Matinlahti, Espoo, Finland. The hotel is located 12 km from the center of Helsinki.
REGISTRATION
Registration to Low Temperatures 2008 is now closed.
TRANSPORTATION
Bus connections from Helsinki downtown to Otaniemi are good (for example lines 102, 103, 194, and 195). For Matinlahti, you can use the bus lines 132 or 503. We will organize direct transportation from Airport to the conference site. Therefore it is important to mark your arrival and departure times in the registration form.
HOUSING
We have booked rooms from Hotel Matinlahti. Some participants may need to share rooms. We ask graduate students to indicate their preferred room mate on the registration form. For questions about housing or financial support, please contact the conference secretary Leena Meilahti.
PROCEEDINGS
Conference proceedings will we published in the Journal of Low Temperature Physics. The deadline for submission is May 31, 2008.
See information on the submission at the JLTP web site - however, please do not use the online submission form but rather submit the manuscripts directly to Tero Heikkilä (nanophysics papers) or Vladimir Eltsov (other papers). Instructions for manuscript preparation can be found from the Springer web site. The LaTeX style file and the manuscript template are available from
this web site. At the first stage of submission, a pdf version of the manuscript will suffice. There are no page limits for the manuscripts, but referees will be asked to consider if the length is appropriate.
POSTERS
Each participant presenting a poster is asked to prepare a short introductory talk (max 2 min) at the begining of the session. The 1-2 page slides (preferably pdf) should be given to poster chairmen well before the session. If you wish to present an unannounced poster, contact Tero Heikkilä (Nanophysics), Matti Krusius (Low temperature), or Risto Hänninen. Note that the maximum size for posters is 160cm x 160cm. The posters will fixed on the boards with pins which are available in the poster hall. Please fix the poster on the board in the morning well before your poster session.
TRAVEL EXPENSES
Participants are asked to fill this form for their travel expenses. Remember to indate your bank name, address, IBAN and SWIFT number for your account. Fill, print, sign, and post the form with receipts by April 18, 2008 to the following address:
