It is our sad duty to announce the sudden and unexpected death of Academician Olli. V. Lounasmaa, the founder of the Low Temperature Laboratory. Olli Lounasmaa had just arrived in Goa in India on December 27th to spend a holiday with his wife Inkeri and two of his grand-daughters when he was struck by a fatal heart attack. The personnel and all the members of the Low Temperature Laboratory wish to express their deepest sympathy to his wife Inkeri and his daughters and grand-daughters.
