General Science Styles

Please be sure to read this file before using our Science styles. Here you will find notes about any limitations in a style, along with tips about how you might work around those limitations. You will also find a list of any other journals that use the styles included in this package.


ASCE Authors' Guide
----------------------
This journal requires that an author name be listed only once in a citation. If you need to create a multiple citation with more than one reference to the same author, please see "Showing an author's name only once in a multiple citation" in the Styles chapter of your EndNote manual.

This journal includes the organization or association sponsoring a conference. This field is not currently defined in the Conference Proceedings reference type, but you can add it yourself. To do so, please see "Adding, Deleting & Renaming Fields" in the "Reference Types" chapter of the EndNote manual.

This journal includes the specific pages cited in a book. Our styles do not include the specific page or pages cited for a book or edited book. Instead, EndNote includes a field for the Number of Pages for both books and edited books.

Science

EndNote cannot group a series of references under one number as is permitted by the Science journal. If you wish to cite a series of references together under one number, only cite the first reference in the text, and then use the Copy Formatted command to copy the references and then paste the additional references into the final formatted bibliography.

To create a non-bibliographic entry in the reference list (a note cited together with the references), create a fake reference to represent the note in your library. Then insert that reference into the text where you need to cite the note. You can write the full text of the note into the formatted bibliography. Alternatively, a more lasting solution is to create a new type of reference just for notes. Then you can enter the notes into your EndNote library, and modify the Science style to format them correctly in your bibliographies.
