The objective of this project is to relate the different regimes in superfluid turbulence to changes in the fractal structure of the generated vortex network. In particular, we envisage to connect the energy spectrum of homogeneous superfluid turbulence to the fractal dimension of the network.
By using concepts from percolation theory, we have first studied the fractal structure of vortex networks (and other networks formed by line objects) in a more simpler context of equilibrium phase transitions. We have shown, partly through Monte Carlo simulations, how the critical exponents of the transition are encoded in the fractal structure of such networks.
